Roots to the future

Where shall I root myself?

And how do I even start such a process?

Trees grow by eating sunlight

And shitting out oxygen

Building sweet sugars from all the carbon we emit in the meantime

They know how to live a good life

But they can’t decide where to root themselves

I can

I can wonder what my place is in this ever expanding human society?

World’s population is projected to nearly stop growing by the end of the century, research has found.

So plenty of space to stretch those roots out in the future

New planets will be available even

To hide from all the places I would not want to be

Here on our blue marble

But rooting might be more than physical

What thoughts do I decide to hold on to?

How do I keep up understanding?

Where do I keep my knowledge stored and how is it that some of it gets destroyed so fast?

There have been paradigms to keep your mind save in, not having to grasps new ways of experiencing the world.

But rather more often then not

They  seem to be limited.

So I find myself in constant shifts of understanding.

Constantly getting lost

Nonetheless there is a comfort

In wondering what it will be next to hold on to

What I will discover

What place to finally start rooting myself in
